In 2012 new owners of a 1970's contemporary style Woodridge Lake home wanted a major renovation. The original layout had a lakeside living room several steps down from the entry, dining, and kitchen areas. The different floor levels tended to isolate the living room from use and even blocked views of the lake from the rest of the house. The floor level in the new construction was raised to match the first floor. The new living room opened up dramatic views of the lake with a wall of windows and a cathedral ceiling framing the existing stone chimney.
